SECU’s Family House Addition

Beam completed a three-story addition to the State Employees’ Credit Union Family House, a facility that offers a supportive, affordable place to stay for patients and their families traveling long distances for treatment at UNC Hospitals. The expansion provides much-needed additional space to accommodate the growing demand for temporary housing during critical medical care.

Constructed with metal stud framing, fiber-cement siding, and a shingle roof, the addition includes a dining room expansion, a large common area, and a fully equipped kitchen. The project reflects Beam’s commitment to building environments that promote healing, comfort, and community for those facing serious health challenges.
